I peeped Nick Cello's concert last Sunday after the ALQ wrap party. The program consisted of Haydn, Shostakovich and Brahms and mint ginger lemonade. Not the same, but I will offer two of my favorite parts:
The boat started swaying somewhere in the middle of the fourth movement of the Shostakovich piece embedded above. I couldn't tell whether it was my hangover from the night before or being on a rockable boat with an impassioned piano trio. While Bargemusic is a highly pleasurable visual and auditory experience, boats should not be boarded post Night O' Half Dozen Heineken. It was a program of humorous diddies punctuated with smooth beauty, and now I am left to watch that second video with Eugene Istomin, Isaac Stern and Leonard Rose on repeat via You Tube.
